Advisory committees can be extremely beneficial to career and technical programs. Their purpose can be to provide a link between business and industry and CTE staff. They can advise staff on current needs of their industry, make suggestions for specific equipment/software use, become mentors to students, assist in career events, and become internship/co-op sites for students. This presentation will give the attendees step by step suggestions/tips to develop an advisory committee, and most important how to utilize the committee to their utmost potential.
