What do hoverboards, cell phones and airplanes have in common? Besides being high interest objects to most students, they also have recently shown the problem of high energy density in spectacular ways by catching fire! We are working on standards aligned curriculum investigating this phenomena in hands-on, engineering design activities. Students learn so much more when they need to think, design, and evaluate to create a product. In this hands-on session, participants will design and construct a small cart as they investigate the problem of energy density. Participants will design, and 3D print components in this activity you can do with your students in your classroom!
